Gate Times & Entry
- Festival entry is permitted only during official gate times:
Friday: 12:00 – 20:00
Saturday: 09:00 – 17:00 - A valid, government-issued photo ID is required for entry. No exceptions will be made.
- The festival is strictly for attendees aged 18 and over. No underage persons will be admitted under any circumstances.
- Wristbands must be worn at all times on the festival site. Anyone found without a wristband will be removed by security.
General Conduct & Behaviour
- Follow the instructions of all festival crew, security personnel, and emergency services. These guidelines are in place to protect everyone.
- Climbing on boulders, rock formations, or any elevated structures is strictly prohibited.
- Swimming is only permitted during daylight hours. No swimming after sunset for your safety.
- Be respectful, kind, and considerate to fellow festival-goers at all times.
- Practice situational awareness. Be mindful of your surroundings and act responsibly in all circumstances.
- Use common sense in decision-making, especially in a natural, remote, and open environment like Spitzkoppe.
Cheers & Clarity
- Alcohol may be brought into the festival in cans only.
- No glass containers, bottles, or glassware are permitted anywhere on the festival grounds or campsites. Any glass items will be confiscated by security without exception.
- The festival maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards illegal drugs and illicit substances.
- Anyone found in possession of illegal substances will be removed from the site immediately and reported to local authorities if necessary.
- Responsible drinking is encouraged. Know your limits, and take care of yourself and others.
Safety & Security
- Weapons of any kind are strictly forbidden on festival grounds. This includes firearms, knives, sharp objects, and any item deemed dangerous by security.
- Fireworks, flares, and pyrotechnics are strictly prohibited.
- Security checks, including bag searches, will be conducted at the entrance and throughout the event if necessary.
- Report any suspicious, harmful, or illegal activity immediately to festival staff or security personnel.
- Respect the safety zones, medical facilities, and crew areas. Unauthorized access is prohibited.
Environmental Responsibility – Leave No Trace
- Help us preserve the natural beauty of Spitzkoppe by minimising your environmental impact.
- Dispose of waste correctly using provided bins and waste stations. Bring waste bags to keep your site clean and take your waste along with you.
- Reduce the use of single-use plastics and packaging – bring reusable water bottles and eco-friendly supplies.
- Do not damage or remove vegetation, rocks, or interfere with wildlife.
- Public urination is prohibited. Please use the designated restroom facilities.
- Absolutely no open fires are allowed anywhere on festival or campsite grounds. Only gas cookers are permitted for personal cooking.
Campsite regulations
- Respect your fellow campers and maintain a peaceful, harmonious environment.
- Only portable gas cookers are permitted.
- A well-stocked food stall is available on site to keep you fed without hassle.
- Keep campsite noise to a minimum at night.
- Portable Bluetooth and wireless speakers are not permitted.
- All personal sound systems will be confiscated if found.
- Festival music will be provided by our official DJs and sound systems.
Health & Wellbeing
- Take regular breaks, rest when needed, and pace yourself throughout the festival.
- Temperatures during the day can be extremely high – stay hydrated at all times.
- Wear sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and other sun protection.
- Evenings can become chilly – bring warm clothing, blankets, and extra layers.
- First aid and medical services are located near the main stage.
- If you or someone near you feels unwell or injured, seek assistance immediately.
Safe Space Commitment
- BARHP Spitzkoppe Festival is a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for all people, regardless of race, gender identity, sexuality, religion, or background.
- Discrimination, harassment, and abusive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
- If you witness or experience harassment or inappropriate behavior, report it immediately to a member of staff, the crew, or security.
- We are committed to creating a festival culture rooted in kindness, respect, diversity, and mutual support.

Your actions impact not only your safety but the safety of others and the preservation of this extraordinary natural location.
If a festival-goers do not abide by our rules and guidelines, they will be escorted off festival grounds by our security team.
